Referral Specialist
Job Description
This is a great opportunity located right outside of downtown Portland with our largest healthcare network in Maine. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering very strong benefits and room for growth within the network.
Duties:
The referral specialist will ensure patients have been cleared for an appointment by resolving pre-certification, registration, and case-related concerns prior to a patient's appointment. The referral specialist verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization if needed from the insurance provider and provides administrative support such as entering referrals and documents within the system. Additional administrative responsibilities include scheduling and managing appointments and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
Experience:
- Previous referral/medical office experience and knowledge of medical office billing procedures necessary
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
