Research information necessary for preparation of bid specifications for new business and renewals for small and large group and retirement planning clients.
Request bids from insurance carriers; follow-up on receipt of proposals.
Prepare renewal proposal presentations for existing clients.
Obtain insurance quotes and create presentations for prospective clients on as-needed basis.
May make recommendations to account managers regarding quotes, ideas and issues needing to be addressed.
Research and prepare annual plan review materials for retirement planning division clients.
Assist account managers with preparing enrollment meeting materials.
Administer client benefits intranet sites as applicable.
Process paperwork to ensure correct and timely enrollment for group clients.
Apply sound business judgment in analysis, research, interpretation, review and preparation of small group insurance contracts and other documentation resulting in records that are accurate, clear, concise and legally defensible.
Maintain and file group department records.
Assist with phone service relating to premium rates and customer service issues.
May help manage employee benefit plans for employers with 1-10 employees.
Other duties as assigned.
2-3 years experience in the employee benefits industry required. Bachelor s degree or related experience required. Experience with medical insurance quoting is strongly desired, especially self-funded groups. Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel is a must. Strong math skills needed.
