Job Description

Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of information to management, regulators and other interested parties as well as maintenance of various financial systems, as outlined below. A strong understanding and demonstrated experience in statutory reporting is necessary. Hybrid work model available.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work with actuaries - provide accurate and timely data for use in complex actuarial calculations.

· Calculate reserve estimates for periods not analyzed by actuaries.

· Prepare monthly report on premium activity, analyzing reports and creating graphs for actuaries. Calculate annual budget for earned premiums.

· Analyze claims data to post indemnity and ALAE reserve and reinsurance transactions to claims accounting and general ledger systems. Prepare various proofs and analyses to ensure accuracy of claims data.

· Review excel spreadsheet on claim payments made involving insureds with indemnity and ALAE deductibles. Track payments made and watch per claim and aggregate limits. Request reimbursement from insureds as necessary.

· Work with reinsurers to provide accurate and timely data relative to claims experience and profit sharing. Track profit sharing receivable until full payment is received.

· Develop and utilize reporting tools, i.e., F9 and Crystal Reports, to analyze and report accounting data.

· Analyze/verify reports generated from the data warehouse for accuracy and reasonableness.

· Prepare reports annually for abandoned property and escheat to State.

· Review and assist with the calculation and payment of the premium tax payable for all states.
