Job Description

Workers compensation and personal injury firm seeks Paralegal and Legal Assistant.

Required Skills:

Fluency with Word, Outlook, Excel, and Zoom.

Basic understanding of litigation procedures and local (state and federal) court rules.

Ability to conduct professional and courteous client interactions.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including the ability to accurately proofread and format documents.

A passion for helping injured people, a willingness to accept new challenges, and comfort asking questions and learning from others.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management:

Review, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.

Be familiar with procedural rules and requirements in order to ensure proper tracking of deadlines and adherence to rules.

Manage case schedules, including timely scheduling of depositions and medications.

Gather and organize critical client and case information, including medical treatment history.

Collect medical records and bills, and review and organize their information into concise indexes for attorney reviews.

Gather and arrange evidence, exhibits, and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.

Coordinate and schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions.

Gather and systematically arrange evidence as well as various legal documents for a thorough attorney review and case preparation, thereby facilitating a smoother legal process.

Proactively coordinate and schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared for upcoming legal engagements.

Manage communications with insurance adjusters, lien holders, and loan holders to ensure accurate exchange of information.

Track and manage client expense and lien information, ensuring ability to create accurate client settlement statements and fulfillment of client lien obligations, and manage negotiation of clients’ liens.

Request information from third parties including government agencies, including police reports, criminal and driving histories, and FOAA requests

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
