Construction Project Manager
Job Description
Immediate contract - transportation industry. 3-6 months expected length of assignment, possibly longer.
Manages design consultants to develop complete design plans and specifications for capital improvement projects.
Administers construction contracts from bid process to end of warranty period.
Prepares and administers consultant contracts for the City including survey, engineering, environmental and construction work.
Responsible for developing, reviewing, recommending and implementing survey, engineering, and/or construction standards and procedures.
Reviews City, State, or Federal legislation and makes appropriate recommendations.
Monitors construction of municipal projects. This may include acting as resident inspector, supervising a subordinate inspector, review and approval of shop drawings, review of periodic payment estimates, design of field changes, approval of necessary change orders, performs completion inspections and tests, and is responsible for final acceptance of the work.
Prepares cost estimates for potential and actual projects; monitors assigned project budget from initial appropriation to final payment.
Prepares budget estimates and equipment needs for municipal projects; administers portions of operating and funding program budgets related to assigned projects.
Makes presentations to governmental boards and civic or neighborhood organizations as required by assigned work. Addresses constituent concerns, prepares corrective action plans and conducts neighborhood meetings.
Collects and analyzes data; writes reports; performs special projects as assigned, including grant applications and administration of same.
Prepares and supervises maintenance of documentation related to municipal infrastructure improvement projects.
Inspects contractor’s work
Performs related engineering office and field work and maintains equipment as required.
