Why This Role Exists

Springborn Staffing has been a trusted fixture in the Portland, Maine market since 1987. With an ownership transition in late 2024, our goal is to continue providing our signature relationship-driven approach to talent acquisition while scaling our operations, particularly on the direct hire side of the business, while maintaining our temp and temp-to-hire clientele. We're seeking a dynamic, executive-level partner to step in and eventually help lead our internal operations.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a true partner, not just an employee. The ideal candidate is a seasoned staffing professional (7+ years of agency experience) with a deep knowledge of the Maine employment market, existing networks, and strong client relationships. You should have an entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to lead a team while independently generating revenue. Most importantly, you must be committed to a boutique agency model – we look at the person behind the resume, and we want a leader who values long-term partnerships over a high-volume, transactional approach.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a "producing leader" role that operates on a strategic 40/30/30 split, allowing you to drive high-level strategy while remaining hands-on:

• Business Development (40%): Leading outbound sales strategies to acquire new business and spearheading our market expansion into NH and MA.
• Agency Operations (30%): Overseeing daily agency operations, mentoring internal staff, and collaborating directly with ownership on long-term growth initiatives.
• Sourcing & Recruiting (30%): Maintaining a hands-on approach to full-cycle recruitment, running a desk, and directly managing high-level placements.

What Skills You’ll Need

• Extensive experience in the staffing/agency sector with a strong background in sales or business development.
• Significant experience managing clients and candidates in an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) – experience with our new ATS, Crelate, is a plus but not required.
• Expertise in leveraging LinkedIn and Indeed for sourcing and business development.
