Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Medical Assistant to join our healthcare client, a growing psychotherapy practice located in South Portland, ME. In this role, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support to ensure the safe, efficient, and patient-centered delivery of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments for individuals experiencing mental health conditions such as depression. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical procedures, patient care, HIPAA standards, and office management, with a focus on fostering a welcoming environment that promotes healing and well-being.

Position Details:

  • Temp-to-hire (90-day trial period)
  • 100% on-site in South Portland, ME
  • Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 3:00pm (35 hours per week)

Duties:

  • Administer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments according to physician treatment plans.
  • Monitor patients throughout treatment to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being.
  • Educate and support patients throughout their treatment journey, answering questions and providing reassurance.
  • Accurately document treatment sessions, patient progress, and required clinical records.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition or safety concerns to the clinical team.
  • Maintain treatment equipment, supplies, and a clean, organized treatment environment.
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Assist with general administrative and office support duties as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience operating TMS equipment is desired, but full training is offered
  • Prior clinical experience in mental/behavioral health, or an inpatient setting is desired
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems)
  • Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, X-ray procedures, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
  • Familiarity with hospital experience standards including inpatient care protocols or hospital medicine practices
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
  • Certification in Medical Assisting is desired, but not required
