Medical Malpractice Paralegal
Job Description
Experienced Medical Malpractice Paralegal preferred to join fast paced law practice.. In this role, you will provide essential support in managing complex medical malpractice cases, ensuring thorough case preparation, document management, and legal research. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of legal procedures related to personal injury and healthcare law.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in all phases of medical malpractice litigation, including case intake, investigation, and discovery processes.
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, and correspondence with clients and medical providers.
- Manage case files efficiently using document management systems
- Coordinate depositions, interviews with witnesses, and medical experts; prepare summaries and timelines for case evaluation.
- Review medical records for relevance and accuracy; organize evidence for trial preparation.
- Support administrative tasks including data entry, filing, proofreading documents, transcription, and maintaining calendar deadlines.
- Maintain communication with clients regarding case status
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures specific to personal injury law and healthcare regulations.
Job Requirements
Experience
- Paralegal experience in medical malpractice or personal injury law is highly preferred.
- Open to paralegals in other areas of law
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Experience with project management principles within a law office setting.
- Knowledge of legal contracts, data entry accuracy, clerical experience, and phone etiquette are essential.
